PFAFF Sewing Machine Vintage 332
This is a really NICE vintage sewing machine. I wish I could keep it but I have too many machines.
You can see that it sews through several layers of fabric (I just did about 14 layers of cotton) and some thinner leather and denim. I folded a denim jean hem piece and folded that over, if you sew you know how hard it is to get through denim hems! I tried some thicker thread and the tension dial didn't like it, so it perhaps could benefit from some fine tuning.
Has the turn dial to obtain other stitches, and included is the stitch dial selection card. Comes with all the accessories you see. Original booklets and the original owner has a hand written sheet for more instructions.
Lots of needles too.
Plug does have some wear, I used some hot glue to reinforce it, I think you can still obtain a new plug online, but it works fine as is. There is a chip to the white porcelain piece that the plug goes into, but it does work fine, so it’s just cosmetic. If you were going to do hours of sewing I would recommend replacing the plug.
I didn’t try sewing sails or repairing upholstery but with the right needle and tension it may sew those things. I don’t know what size needle is on it now, but it did go through that piece of leather.
Some thick pieces you have to give the flywheel a little push, but that’s only going through the thickest thing I tried.
Stitches maybe aren't perfect, I have never had this serviced by a professional as it sewed well enough for me.
It’s missing the second thread holder at the top, it was like that when I got the machine.
This is as good as any old vintage singer and maybe better! Definitely better than the cheap plastic new machines out there. Just depends on what you are needing! I also have a few others that will be for sale, so if you are looking for a machine let me know!
Just replaced the drive belt in 2021.
Made in GERMANY and all metal, still can get parts for this machine.
NOTE: I don't teach sewing, so you will want to know how to use a machine before coming to look at it. It has several stitch functions that I am not able to teach you how to use. There are lots of online sources for that.
