Ampex vacuum tube console - $700

I don’t know a lot about Ampex, other than they mainly made studio equipment but did have a few consumer offerings. This one has all its electronic components (legs to the cabinet are sadly gone), though I believe the turntable isn’t original. It’s a Garrard, but the color doesn’t match the other components. It’s also missing the pickup, but you should be able to find one fairly easily. You can have your choice of power amplifier, I have 6973 and 6V6 based ones to choose from. There are also a pair of bookshelf speakers and 4 little ‘cube’ speakers, sold separately if you’re interested. I haven’t restored any of it, so don’t expect to plug it in and ‘try it before you buy it’. Old tube equipment should always be serviced before use, to make sure the components are up to the task.
