Here I have up for sale is a vintage USAAF WWll bomber crew survival/crash axe These survival axes were amongst the WWll bombers for emergency crashes to escape when there was wiring and electrical current to need to cut through without getting electrocuted and also to cut through metal. This one is very unique with the logo mark on the neck surface. The handle may have been replaced or it was the under part of the original rubber outer layer handle. This may have been the insulation under the rubber outer portion. Axe head is in good shape, handle measures approx. 14 3/8 inches long, the head measures approx. 7 1/2 inches long. Hard to come by in any condition.
